We have recently applied for full planning permission and Listed Building consent at a spectacular site in Ramsgate, with its own landscaped grounds overlooking the sea in the upmarket residential area of Pegwell Bay.
The proposed site will consist of 8 new houses and 40 apartments in the newly restored grounds.
The principal house was built in 1795 and Queen Victoria stayed here during her childhood at holidaytime. Her pet donkey is buried somewhere in the grounds.
There are good public transport links and Ramsgate railway station is less than 10 minutes by car. In addition, it is proposed that the current freight ferry service across the Channel will be expanded to car and passenger services within a year. Kent International Airport is also to expand its current passenger service throughout Europe this season.
Three large employers (including Pfizer) were based in the area and this proposal for a managed estate is designed to appeal to this market.
The new elements of the scheme have been designed in a contemporary style after close liaison with the planners.
The project is now 50% complete with the final completion date due in October 2004.
